ABOUT: OASIS

Adult Day Program

OASIS Adult Day Program is a licensed daytime care program for seniors in the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s. We are dedicated to creating an inviting and stimulating environment with opportunities for social interaction with every visit.

What is OASIS?

OASIS Adult Day Program is an innovative adult day care program for people in the early stages of dementia. Much like a coffee club, activity group, or senior center, participants at the OASIS program can connect and create new friendships with other people on similar life journeys while being cared for in a licensed community care facility.

OASIS encourages independence and living life to the fullest through engaging activities, purpose-filled service projects, and laughter.  With a staff ratio of one staff for eight participants, we provide a safe and secure environment for our participants to maintain an active social lifestyle.

How to Explain OASIS Adult Day Care to Your Senior Loved One

You may find that your loved one is not initially convinced about the benefits of coming to OASIS. We have often found that if someone attends for a few weeks, they begin to greatly enjoy the benefits and look forward to their time in our adult day care program. Here are some tips to help you explain senior day care and explain OASIS to them:

  1. Fun, fellowship, and good food! Highlight the social aspects and downplay the care aspects of the program. OASIS can be described as a senior center or a coffee club.

  2. Discuss the productive aspects of the program: volunteering, helping others, and working on community service projects.

  3. Have the doctor suggest the use of the program and ask the doctor to write an order or prescription for the program.
